Dear AsCNP Members / PSS Neuropsychopharmacology Section Members:
I wish you a healthy, peaceful, and happy new year. This is our fifth AsCNP Presidential Correspondence. Our previous correspondence can be found on our website: http://ascnp.org/publications/pastPC.html.
Accomplishments in 2019
In 2019, we successfully held the 1st AsCNP-ASEAN International Congress in Yogyakarta in February and March and the 6th AsCNP Congress and 2nd AsCNP-ASEAN International Congress in Fukuoka in October. We launched two AsCNP committees: Awards Committee and Education Committee. AsCNP membership increased from 2900 members and 13 countries/regions to 3200 members and 17 countries/regions. AsCNP has strengthened its connection with other academic societies, such as the International College of Neuropsychopharmacology
(CINP) and American College of Neuropsychopharmacology (ACNP). AsCNP also strengthened its connection with pharmaceutical companies (e.g., the Chairman of the Board of Sumitomo Dainippon Pharma Co., Ltd. gave the
AsCNP2019 Plenary Lecture, and Lundbeck Science Award has been launched). I sincerely appreciate all of the AsCNP members for their great contributions to AsCNP.

CINP 2020 World Congress in Taipei
The CINP World Congress will be held in Taipei on June 25-28, 2020 (https://www.cinp2020.org/). This congress is a great opportunity for AsCNP to bolster its presence in the world. I hope many AsCNP members will participate in the congress and present their findings. The abstract submission deadline is January 30, 2020.
ACNP/AsCNP/CINP/ECNP Leadership Meeting
ACNP has allotted to AsCNP six slots for participation in the ACNP Annual Meeting every year. In 2019, ACNP allotted two additional slots to AsCNP for young investigators. AsCNP has also been invited to ACNP/AsCNP/CINP/ECNP Leadership Meetings that are held at the ACNP Annual Meeting. In December 2019, Shih-Ku Lin (Taiwan; Vice-President of AsCNP and Vice-President of CINP), Atsumi Nitta (Japan; Secretary of AsCNP and Councilor of CINP), and Kazutaka Ikeda (Japan; President of AsCNP and Treasurer of CINP) participated in the Leadership Meeting in Orlando, Florida (Photo 1).
Neuroscience-based Nomenclature (NbN) for central nervous system drugs and gender balance in academic societies were discussed.
